If you catch a cold or are slightly injured, look for a clinic near you or see your family doctor. If you have a severe illness or are suffering a serious injury, go to a major hospital. If it is a holiday or during the night when clinics are closed, look for medical facilities such as emergency hospitals that provide emergency medical services.
If you go to a medical facility, you will need a health insurance card. You will only have to pay a designated portion of the medical cost. If you forget to take your health insurance card with you or if you are not enrolled in medical insurance, you will have to pay the full amount of the medical care cost.
