1. Child Welfare

(1) Allowances/subsidy programs (child allowance, etc.)

Child welfare, nursing care insurance, welfare for the disabled, and welfare benefits are also available.

1.Child benefit

Welfare and Child Support Division (0476-33-7707)

Under a national system, a benefit is provided to the caregiver of a child under junior-high-school age (before the first March 31 after reaching the age of 15).
There is an income limit.
As a rule, to receive the benefit, the child must live in Japan. However, if the child is studying abroad, the benefit may be provided.

2.Child support allowance

Welfare and Child Support Division (0476-33-7707)

Under a national system, the allowance is provided to the household of a single parent. The allowance continues until the first March 31 after the child's 18th birthday.
However, in the case of a child with a severe disability(s), the allowance will continue to be paid until the child turns 20.
Also, if the father or mother is severely disabled, child support allowance is provided. There is an income limit.

 

（1）各種手当・助成制度（児童手当　等）

その他の福祉として、児童福祉、介護保険、障害者福祉及び生活保護などがあります。

1.児童手当

福祉・子ども課（0476-33-7707）

中学校修了前（15歳に達した最初の3月31日まで）までの子どもの養育者に支給される国の制度です。所得によって制限があります。
原則として日本国内に住んでいないと支給されません。ただし、留学などの場合は支給されることがあります。

2.児童扶養手当

福祉・子ども課(0476-33-7707)

ひとり親になった家庭に支給される国の制度です児童が18歳に達する日以後、最初の3月31日まで支給されますが、児童が重度の障害児である場合は、20歳になるまで支給されます。なお、父親又は母親が重度の障害者である場合にも、児童扶養手当が支給されます。所得によって制限があります。
